Sarah + Bo’s Engagement Session at the Texas Capitol

Elegant, statuesque, kind and composed. This couple looks fabulous in both color and black and white. And they really know how to cut a rug! We shot their engagement photos primarily at the Texas Capitol because they had already eloped there. However, like many couples these days, they had another ceremony and reception for family and friends later on. Look back here shortly to see pics from their wedding at Fair Oaks Manor.

Memory Lane Event Center for Michelle and Travis’ Austin Wedding

austin wedding photographers memory lane weddingsI know ya’ll have been waiting with baited breath for this post. And here it is. Memory Lane Event Center hosted another very memorable wedding: this time for Michelle and Travis. I’ll tell you, this is one of the most FUN weddings we have ever shot. At the same time, I did have a tear or two watching the bride dance with her father. This is a sincere, beautiful couple. And they know how to have fun, note the keg stands that the bride and groom did at the end.  Forgive me for being a hopeless romantic, but I love a couple who can laugh and play and take their vows and responsibilities to heart at the same time. Check out their flowers from Wild Bunches! Gorgeous! Go to the bottom to see the bride making her frog a prince. It’s priceless!

Nicole and Cody’s engagement photography session in Austin

Cool, edgy, romantic, vulnerable, artsy, chivalrous. These aren’t normally words I would use together to describe a couple. But Nicole and Cody are anything but your average couple. We were instantly endeared to them during this photo shoot. They were open to anything and we felt we had a great amount of creative freedom with them. We tripped around Austin going to a loading dock behind a pool hall, downtown to a parking garage where Cody frequently skates, a junk yard and Alamo Drafthouse where they love to go on dates. Come back in a couple of weeks to see photos from their wedding at Chapel Dulcinea and the Tuscan Hall. It was truly unique and so much fun to shoot!

Our Nieces performing in The Nutcracker

Last Saturday we got to see our nieces perform in The Nutcracker. Talented, disciplined, beautiful, impressive. This doesn’t begin to describe these performers and the lovely, fluid storytelling they brought to life for the audience. BRAVO! ENCORE!

Our eldest niece will absolutely be a ‘prima ballerina’ some day if she so chooses.austin-photographer-nutcracker-08austin-photographer-nutcracker-09austin-photographer-nutcracker-10austin-photographer-nutcracker-12

This Sugar Plum Fairy had a turn out that would make Mikhail Baryshnikov envious!

Our middle niece played a Bon Bon. One of the cutest things I have ever seen. :)austin-photographer-nutcracker-16austin-photographer-nutcracker-17

I LOVE those little reindeer costumes! KC Powers did a wonderful job on the costumes along with all the other Supermoms.

We were also very happy that Lt. Colonel Ben Powers was able to see his daughters perform before being deployed to Afghanistan. Our prayers are with you, Ben, and all of the brave soldiers that protect and defend our freedom.
